The Key Stage 3 Curriculum helps to build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills in each subject and supports the learning model in developing learners into respectful, resilient, reflective and responsible young people. The national landscape for education is changing and each department has responded by implementing new schemes of learning in line with the new curriculum content to be delivered from September 2020.
At RIAB our Key Stage 4 begins in year 10. We have a core of GCSE and Islamic Studies subjects that all of our students undertake in order to provide a holistic education. We ensure every student is given the best chances to attain the highest grades in all the subjects they study for in KS4, however, depending on the attainment of student over the course of Year 10 and 11, we will determine whether they are entered for the higher or foundation papers. All students have one life skills lesson per week in which a combination of PSHE, SMSC, Careers education and Relationships Education are delivered. They also have one lesson of PE a week.
